John W. Mitchell – Priest-in-Charge
Meet Fr. Mitchell
Rev. Fr. John Worjloh Mitchell hails from Liberia, West Africa, and has been in the ordained ministry for 13 years.
Upon his graduation from the Gbarnga School of Theology, United Methodist University in February 2004, he was ordained a deacon in June at Trinity Cathedral - Monrovia, Liberia.
Fr. Mitchell served in Liberia at St. Augustine Episcopal Church (Gardnersville), the Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd (Paynesville), and Grace Episcopal Church (Clay-Ashland) before coming to the United States.
After serving three years as a deacon, Rev. Fr. Mitchell advanced to the priesthood on November 14, 2007, and served in the following capacities: • Curate, Trinity Cathedral, 2008 – 2010 • Curate, St. Augustine Episcopal Church, Gardnersville, March 2010 – December 2010In May of 2016, he earned a Master of Divinity from Luther Seminary, St. Paul Minnesota.
Fr. Mitchell comes to St. Andrew's Episcopal Church with a humble spirit and a wealth of experience. Fr. Mitchell would love to see St. Andrew's grow into a spiritual and nurturing community, engaging its parishioners and community dwellers at large. He is very passionate about church music, both traditional and contemporary, and engages the congregation in learning new hymns and service music.
